Andrew Simpson Retires After 43 Years: A Legacy of Service, Leadership, and Character

After 43 remarkable years with The Plastic Forming Company, we proudly celebrate the retirement of Andrew Simpson, a leader, mentor, and friend whose impact on PFC will be felt for generations.

Andrew began his journey with PFC in 1983 as a machine operator and went on to become our Production Supervisor, helping shape not only our manufacturing operations but also the countless individuals who worked alongside him. Throughout his career, Andrew played a role in training virtually every production employee at our Connecticut plant, sharing his knowledge, encouraging others, and always making time to help someone succeed.

As PFC President John Womer reflects:

“Andrew and I both joined PFC in the early 1980s, and it has been both a pleasure and an honor to work alongside him for more than forty years.”

John also noted:

“The lasting and meaningful impact Andrew has had on the people here is truly immeasurable. His tireless work ethic, warm and engaging smile, and wonderful sense of humor have become the stuff of legend. As a supervisor and mentor, Andrew had a remarkable ability to see the very best in those around him and help them see it in themselves.”

Andrew’s influence can be seen in the success stories of so many employees, including CT Production Manager Wayne Wright, who shared:

“When I first started at PFC at just 18 years old, Andrew would come in early every day to work with me and show me the ropes. He taught me everything necessary to become successful in my position and was the person who championed me the most. I would not be where I am today without his steady presence and unending support.”

Known for his ability to identify better, more efficient ways of doing things, Andrew consistently helped improve our manufacturing processes. But his greatest legacy extends far beyond operational excellence.

Throughout the years, Andrew played an important role in helping PFC, but perhaps Andrew’s greatest contribution was the impact he had on the people that worked side by side with him. By sharing knowledge, offering encouragement, and always being willing to help, Andrew showed fellow employees what it means to be not only a good employee, but a good human being.

Mike Warth, Vice President & General Manager reflected on Andrews time with PFC:

“Andrew’s example reminds us that success isn’t just about getting the job done. It is about treating people with respect, being dependable, helping others succeed, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

The lessons Andrew shared will continue to live on through the many people who had the opportunity to work alongside him. PFC is certainly better because of his years of service, but the people who know him are better because of the example he set.”

Andrew’s dedication, friendship, and kindness, helped build our company, but his character helped build the people within it. That is a legacy worth celebrating.

Thank you, Andrew, for your 43 years of dedication, friendship, mentorship, and service. You helped build this company, but more importantly, you helped build the people within it.
Congratulations on your retirement and on a legacy truly worth celebrating. Wishing you happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in the years ahead!
